Many retailers, including myself, are experiencing volumes double or triple of what would be considered normal online sale. With this being said, this is also true for shippers such as USPS, UPS, FEDEX.
USPS volumes have FAR exceeded those of last Christmas...in August (usually a very slow time)
USPS is going through some upheaval in additional to sheer volume...causing more delays
USPS has skipped scanning some packages, just to keep things moving, which means tracking compromises
Most if not all shippers have removed guarantees on delivery, which means you won't be able to file a claim if your package doesn't arrive in time, nor will I be able to refund shipping monies that I can't collect from the shippers
UPS and FedEx both rely on USPS for what's called "LAST MILE DELIVERY", which means they can get the package into your Zip Code, but then your order will be at the mercy of USPS getting it to your house or business
Some shippers have suggested they will likely raise prices during the 4th quarter, which will pass to the consumer.
We are asking you to place your orders early. Even with the current 7-21 day average delivery time now is the best time to order.
As grocery stores have limited stock, we are finding some of our suppliers are also limited in their stock, which will most likely worsen in the Fall.
If there is an uptick in Covid-19 infections in November, combined with the seasonal flu, as many experts fear, EVERYTHING COULD CLOSE BACK UP AGAIN. There could be more staffing shortages, and shippers will be more overwhelmed than they currently are.
Tiggers Creations is not trying to create panic we are just passing along EXPERT information from veterans of the shipping industry whom all are asking with their customers to get their orders in now to ensure it's arrival should there be another shut-down due to COVID-19.
